CUSTOM PACKAGING / BRAND PRESENTATION + PRODUCT PROTECTION

Custom Drinkware Packaging

Build the pack around the product, the sales channel and the way it will travel—not just the artwork.

TWO JOBS. ONE PACKAGING SYSTEM.

Look right on the shelf. Arrive ready for the buyer.

Golmate helps brands, importers and retail teams review unit boxes, inserts, labels and master cartons alongside their selected bottle, tumbler or food-container configuration.

  • Presentation: brand hierarchy, opening experience and required product information.
  • Protection: fit, movement control, accessories and surface separation.
  • Receiving: inner packs, carton quantity, marks and warehouse instructions.

01 / PACKAGING DIRECTIONS

Choose a starting format—not a finished specification

Use these directions to brief the project. Availability, construction, print scope and quantities are confirmed for the selected product and programme.

02 / CHANNEL FIRST

The sales channel changes the packaging brief

Retail shelfMake the product easy to identify and compare.Visible panel, brand hierarchy, copy, barcode and retailer instructions.
E-commerceRestrain the product through the agreed parcel route.Unit pack versus shipping carton, inserts, loose parts and applicable transport-validation requirements.
Corporate giftingPresent a complete set with a deliberate opening experience.Gift message, accessories, tray layout, opening sequence and visible finish.

An attractive gift box is not automatically a transit solution. Agree the complete packed configuration and the evidence needed for the intended distribution route.

03 / PRODUCT FIT

A handle, straw or spare lid changes the pack

Select the product direction before finalizing the dieline. The actual SKU determines orientation, clearances, restraint and where materials may contact the finish.

  • Record product dimensions and the agreed packing orientation.
  • List every included component and whether it is packed assembled or loose.
  • Separate surfaces and accessories that should not rub against one another.
  • Identify label, barcode, insert and instruction-sheet requirements.
  • Check the unit pack and master carton together.

Put the right information on the right pack

The unit box, presentation sleeve and outer carton answer different questions. The shopper needs to identify the product and included parts; the receiving team needs to identify the SKU, quantity and handling instruction. A gift pack may also need a message card or insert, but those items should be approved as part of the exact set. Do not rely on one artwork file to control every packaging layer.

Unit or gift pack

Confirm product name, capacity, colour or variant, included accessories, buyer-supplied copy and the barcode or label position where required.

Inner and master carton

Confirm the SKU identifier, pack quantity, carton marks, orientation and receiving instructions for the chosen distribution route.

Market-specific labels and claims require buyer review. If a paper-based or reduced-plastic direction is requested, compare actual protection and print needs before describing the pack as more sustainable.

04 / APPROVAL ROUTE

Approve the structure before releasing the artwork

01 / BRIEF

Confirm the pack brief

State the channel, product and accessories, presentation, label content and importer or retailer instructions.

02 / FIT

Review structure before graphics

Review the box, sleeve, insert or divider concept around the actual product direction.

03 / SAMPLE

Approve artwork and physical fit

Check copy, barcode position, colour references, opening, restraint and packed appearance.

04 / RELEASE

Lock the packing specification

Record orientation, included parts, controlling files, carton quantity, marks and inspection points.

Use a physical packing sample to uncover hidden problems

A dieline can look correct while the finished product still shifts, rubs or leaves an accessory loose. Review the box or insert around the approved physical SKU, including a handle, straw or spare lid. Open and repack the sample; check how the unit presents, where its surfaces touch the pack and whether the recipient can identify all included parts.

  • Check the assembled product dimensions and orientation against the proposed structure.
  • Look for movement, pressure points and contact between finished surfaces or loose accessories.
  • Review copy, colour, barcode and label placement on the physical pack, not only a flat proof.
  • Agree any channel-specific handling or transport-validation question before releasing the design.

A multi-item gift box needs its own component list, fit review and pack-out instruction. The sample approval process can tie the finished pack to the product reference.

Keep pack revisions tied to the product version

Packaging often changes late because the product, artwork and warehouse instructions were approved on separate timelines. Create one record that names the product SKU and revision, packaging structure, artwork file, insert or accessory list, and the carton instruction used for the order. If the lid, handle or included parts change, reopen the fit decision before reusing the previous box.

For quotation, provide the selected product, approximate dimensions, pack type, artwork scope, quantity by variant and any special receiving requirements. Material, printing and assembly choices can then be discussed against a defined scope rather than an open-ended request for a ‘custom box’.

The same record becomes useful at reorder: show what is unchanged, what has moved and whether another physical pack sample is needed.

BRIEF + QUOTATION

Send one connected packaging brief

  • Selected product link, dimensions and accessories.
  • Destination market, sales channel and estimated quantity.
  • Preferred unit-pack format and material direction.
  • Vector artwork, copy, labels and barcode requirements.
  • Inner pack, master carton and warehouse instructions.
  • Known protection concerns and sample-approval questions.

Costs and applicable quantities depend on the structure, print coverage, inserts, packing work and programme scope. Request a project quotation rather than assuming one price or MOQ for every pack.
