Stainless drinkware components prepared for a controlled food-contact testing review
Evidence review reference: match the test sample and conditions to the intended drinkware configuration.

SKU-SPECIFIC EVIDENCE / BUYER REVIEW GUIDE

Drinkware Food-Contact Documentation

A certificate name or a supplier statement is not a complete approval decision. The evidence should match the destination market, the beverage-contact components and the intended use of the selected SKU. This guide helps a buyer organise that review; it does not state that every Golmate product holds a particular certification.

TRACE THE EVIDENCE FROM PRODUCT TO MARKET.

The three-question evidence map

◇ COMPONENT

Which body surface, lid, seal, straw, coating or liner can contact the beverage?

◌ INTENDED USE

What beverage, temperature, duration and repeated-use conditions are relevant?

▣ DESTINATION

Which market’s requirements and review route apply to this exact product?

Create a component evidence register

Product identity

Record model, capacity, component revision and the approved reference sample. A report for a similar item may not apply to a changed lid or liner.

Evidence scope

Keep the document title, issuer, date, tested item, conditions and limitations next to the product component it describes.

Decision owner

Identify who reviews the evidence and what must be resolved before a commercial or production release.

Review the component stack—not the marketing claim

A reusable drinkware assembly can combine a metal interior, plastic closure, silicone seal, straw, coating or liner. Not every visible part has the same contact role. Map each relevant component to its material and current revision, then review the evidence for the actual intended conditions.

Component reference: identify each beverage-contact path and connect it to the current document set.

Official sources help define the question

EU food-contact framework

The European Commission describes Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 as the general framework and identifies material-specific measures, including rules for certain plastics. A buyer should determine which measures apply to the actual product and intended use. See the European Commission legislation overview.

US food-contact components

The US FDA explains that regulatory status depends on the components expected to migrate into food under the intended conditions of use. A product name alone is not a regulatory conclusion. See the FDA guidance.

These links are reference points, not legal advice. The importer or brand owner should confirm the current market-specific obligations with a qualified advisor.

Use the evidence review as a release gate

01 / IDENTIFY

Connect every relevant component to the current SKU and bill of materials.

02 / VERIFY

Compare document scope and test conditions with the intended product use and market.

03 / RECORD

Keep the decision, open questions and source documents with the approved product revision.

Red flags to pause before approval

  • The document does not clearly identify the selected product or a relevant component.
  • The sample or intended conditions differ materially from the final product brief.
  • A certificate logo is shown without a traceable issuer, scope or document reference.
  • A lid, seal, straw, coating or material revision changed after the evidence was created.
