BRANDED GIFTS / CAMPAIGNS / TEAM PROGRAMMES

Promotional Drinkware Programs

Make the product useful after the event is over. Plan the drinkware format, branding, sample and pack-out together so a corporate gift or campaign item feels intentional—not like a logo placed on a random bottle.

01 / CAMPAIGN CANVAS

Choose the item from the recipient backwards

Where will it be used?

Desk, commute, travel, sport or outdoor use changes the useful capacity, opening and carry format.

How will it be given?

A hand-delivered gift, staff kit and shipped campaign pack each create different packaging questions.

What should remain?

Think about repeat use, cleaning and brand fit after the first impression.

Design the hand-off for each gift route

After the product format is chosen, the distribution route changes the pack and the recipient experience. A hand-delivered gift, a staff kit and a shipped campaign may use the same drinkware but need different item lists, protection and identification. Define where the gift is assembled, handed over or shipped before approving its packaging.

Hand-delivered event gift

Prioritise immediate product understanding and a tidy presentation. Confirm how the item is carried away and whether the recipient can identify included parts.

Staff or partner kit

Consider how drinkware sits alongside other kit items, which information belongs on an insert and whether multiple recipient groups require separate versions.

Shipped campaign pack

Review product restraint, surface contact and the outer pack as well as the presentation box. Do not assume a gift box alone is a shipping solution.

02 / BRAND EXECUTION

A mark has to work on the actual surface

Review logo size, position and colour contrast on the selected body and coating. The decoration route should be chosen for the artwork, material and intended visual effect, then confirmed on a sample.

  • Define the primary and secondary brand marks.
  • Identify the viewing angle and available decoration area.
  • Confirm colour references and how the logo reads on the finish.
  • Approve the completed item, not only a digital mock-up.

Build one brand system for several physical finishes

A logo file is only the start of a decorated product. The approved result depends on the coating, curvature, available area, contrast and viewing angle. If a campaign uses more than one colour or vessel shape, review the mark on each selected physical configuration. A digital mock-up can guide placement but cannot replace the final sample decision.

  • Primary mark: define the artwork file, size, location and orientation on the actual product.
  • Colour system: specify the intended contrast against each finish and record the approved reference.
  • Secondary message: decide whether an insert, sleeve or card is more appropriate than crowding the vessel.
  • Revision: tie the final files to a named sample or SKU version before the order is released.

Compare logo methods and finishes by material and visual goal; no technique should be assumed suitable for every surface.

03 / WHAT GOES IN THE BOX

Approve the complete gift, not just the bottle

PRODUCT

Body, lid, accessories and the exact approved colour or finish.

MESSAGE

Card, insert, label or instruction content supplied and approved by the buyer.

PRESENTATION

Box or sleeve structure sized to the finished product and the way it will be distributed.

A presentation pack may need additional outer protection for parcel shipping. See packaging decisions →

Turn the approved gift into a pack-out instruction

The recipient experiences a complete set, not an isolated cup. Describe which lid, straw, spare component, message card or insert belongs with each SKU. Check the unit pack against the assembled product dimensions and confirm how loose parts are held. If a campaign has several recipient groups, give each kit a distinct item list and approval reference.

Marketing can approve the message and look, while procurement checks the physical pack configuration and identification. Those approvals should meet on the same sample. The packaging page sets out the difference between presentation, product protection and carton handoff.

04 / SAMPLE SIGN-OFF

The five-point approval check

  • The selected format suits the intended recipient and use.
  • The lid and included components match the approved configuration.
  • Logo placement, finish and colour have been reviewed on a physical sample.
  • The complete unit pack contains the agreed items and messaging.
  • Any change after approval has a revised version and owner.

If the programme spans several recipients or channels, create a separate approval record for each material SKU difference. Use the sample approval process →

A campaign approval should survive a late change

Promotional programmes often combine product, artwork and pack decisions from different teams. Keep a short approval record naming the recipient group, chosen format, finish, artwork version, unit-pack contents and sign-off owner. If the logo changes after the sample, or a gift box is resized after accessories are added, check whether a new physical review is needed.

  • Confirm the final assembled item against the approved product reference.
  • Confirm artwork on the actual finish and orientation, not only a flat proof.
  • Confirm inserts, instructions and included components inside the unit pack.
  • Confirm carton identification and the intended distribution route with the buyer.

A practical inquiry includes the occasion, audience, preferred use, brand assets and pack route. Open points can then be discussed as decisions rather than hidden assumptions.
